About My WorK: These are handpulled serigraphs, the silk screen process of printmaking. My designs are my own drawings, transfered to the screen. I use glue, paper and talcum to manipulate a stencil, by hand. No photos or photographic processes are used in any aspect of my work. The stencil allows part of the design to be 'printed' or colored. Ink is pressed through the screen onto each subsequent sheet of paper (print) in the edition, one at a time, with a new stencil application, after each color printing. One screen is used for the entire process in a 'reduction' method. It is a laborious process that creates an 'edition', or multiples, of the image. In my process, therefore, the prints themselves are the only color originals. Editions number from 10 to 65 handpulled prints.
